Flowers and plant business remain fresh despite global downturn


The region´s love of plants and flowers has remained strong despite the global downturn. Dubai´s geographic position as an international hub for this important business and its world-leading infrastructure has meant that this sector has remained fresh and full of vitality throughout the recent economic downturn.

We are very proud that His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed al Maktoum – President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports – accepted for the fifth time the patronage of IPM DUBAI.

This support emphasizes the importance of the horticultural development in the whole Gulf region impressively.

IPM - International Trade Fairs for Plants, Technology, Floristry and Sales promotion –
a success story


IPM ESSEN - as the worldwide number one in the green sector - takes place since 28 years in Essen, Germany. In January 2010, 1,511 exhibitors from 43 countries presented their products to 57,168 visitors from all over the world.

Additionally – as a global network in the green market - IPM is held every year in China, in Moscow, Russia and in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.


Since 5 years IPM DUBAI – International Plants Expo Middle East – has become the central horticultural trade fair in the Middle East region. In 2009, 240 exhibitors from 22 countries met about 2.500 visitors from about 50 countries.


Impressive is also the trade visitor structure of IPM DUBAI 2009:

At IPM DUBAI 2010 the exhibitors offer a wide range of plants, flowers, horticultural equipment and services for the entire needs of the horticultural industry and trade.

IPM DUBAI will bring together visitors from all over the world with approximately 160 exhibitors from 20 countries with 5 country pavilions from Egypt, Germany, Kenya, the United Kingdom and the USA.

For the fifth time with the support of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection the German pavilion is one of the pillars of IPM DUBAI. 14 exhibitors show a wide range of horticultural technology, plant maintenance and floristry.

Seminars and demonstrations


In 2010 seminars and demonstrations will be held again covering different topics.

Especially the life demonstrations by Floral Designer Manfred Hoffmann from the German Florists’ Association will be again an inspiration how to work with flowers and floral accessories.
 

WOP DUBAI – Sister event for fresh fruits and vegetables


WOP DUBAI – International Perishables Expo – is the Middle Easts only dedicated trade show for the trade with fresh produce.

This year 120 exhibitors from 18 countries will present their products. IPM DUBAI and WOP DUBAI will take place side by side at the Dubai Airport Expo.
